Shake Shack, New York
OMG I’M SO EXCITED!!!! AALALLALALALALLAALLALA!!
So I was really hungry and really angry (it rhymes!) cos I was really hungry (AGAIN! LOL), and based on popular demand (and what I mean by popular demand is Dodilia, who has been pestering me to go to this place) I decided to go to *music* SHSHSHSHSHSHAKE SHACK!
Shake Shack has several locations in Manhattan, and I went to the one in the Upper West Side - 77th and Columbus.
When I got there I gasped, cos the line was friggin’ LONG! Like, people were actually queuing outside of the building! AROUND THE BLOCK! Unlike what happened to me at Serendipity (if you want to know what happened, check out my review on Dylan’s Candy Bar fudges), I decided to stay and bear the torture. Thankfully, Dodilia and I texted throughout the process, so I didn’t feel so alone :D
After about 30 minutes of insane waiting, I finally got in! I was recommended to try out the Shack Burger and custard, so I ordered those.
The waiting process was really cute. This is basically why they call themselves Shake Shack. So after I ordered, I was given this device. Basically, when the order’s done and ready to be picked up, the device thing will “shake” (or simply vibrate), and you go to the pick up counter and get the food. So with logic an deductive reasoning, that’s where the name Shake Shack comes from!
Ok the food. THE FOOD.
The burger (double Shack Burger) OMG. The first bite made me smile. SMILE! It was the juicy-est burger I have ever tasted! The bun was really soft and the beef was TENDER. It wasn’t too tender like wagyu burger (I hate wagyu burger by the way - too soft); it was PERFECT! And the grease… Just look at the picture!
The custard (vanilla) was AMAZING! Ok let’s start with texture. The texture was soft and dense, in a nice way. It’s really hard to explain. Like, it’s dense that if you flip the cup it wont fall (like Diary Queen), but a little denser than that, but it was soft. The density didn’t make me wanna puke because there was no after taste. Like, you know whenever you eat cream or ice cream there’s this creamy after taste? This one doesn’t have any! So when you eat it, it tastes like cream, and then after you swallow it, it feels like you just had a gulp of fresh water! That’s what makes it not puke-making. LOL. It was sooooo great.
So yea, that was my GREAT experience at Shake Shack. I hope you guys can visit this place if you decide to go to New York. It was worth the wait. Seriously.
