The Ivy, Los Angeles
I went to the very famous the Ivy restaurant when I was in LA. This restaurant is famous for having many celebrities coming, so it was really fun! I didn’t see any celebrities here though…
The dish I ordered was the oyster; there were 6 of them, for 12 dollars, which is quite reasonable, since oysters are usually quite expensive and this is quite a high-end restaurant.
The oysters taste like your average oyster, cos they’re just oysters. lol. The red stuff right there is the sauce; it was a mix of tomato paste and a little heat. It was kind of sweet as well. I think the sauce was nice when combined with the oysters, but it was nice combined with the calamaris as well! The picture’s below:
The calamaris were delicious! The crispiness was perfect, and the meat wasn’t very chewy, which I liked. Because a lot of restaurants serve very chewy calamaris that you cannot really bite them off, but this one was not that chewy, so it was good.
I also tried my friend’s ravioli. It was lobster ravioli with tomato and cheese dressing. The picture’s below:
I loved it as well! I think this ravioli kind of tastes like the lobster ravioli in a restaurant called Seraffina, which is kind of scattered around in NYC, which I will review in the future if I get to go there again. So basically the insides of the ravioli is very light and not cheesy at all. The sauce was a little salty and the tomato was very apparent. The cheese on top made it all perfect!
