Banoffee pie isn’t really a ‘thing’ here in this city, there’s not many places that serve it. There is of course the infamous Cafe Sopra banoffee pie, but is it really the best banoffee pie in Sydney? (Answer: no). Lo and behold, The Sweet Spot Patisserie’s banoffee pie.
That’s the tiramisu on the background (but let’s just focus on the banoffee)
That’s a whole lot of cream inside (= good)
I know what you’re thinking: doesn’t that seem like a stingy amount of bananas compared to the cream? No it doesn’t. It works.
Now I haven’t tried every single banoffee pie in Sydney, so I can’t say that this is the best out of all. But it is good. What distinguishes Sweet Spot’s from other banoffee pies is that the crust resembles more of a pie crust than a graham cracker base. Is that a bad indication of a banoffee? I don’t know. I should stop asking rhetorical questions. It tastes good though. Seriously.
