Fred’s at Barneys New York, NYC

I came here with a friend of my dad’s who was visiting. Apparently this is one of his favorite lunch/brunch places in NYC. Even though it is at Barneys and the customers seem old, the place is actually pretty casual. We came in without any reservations and just decided to sit by the bar.

I ordered the Wise Guy pizza, which is medium-crusted pizza with sweet and spicy ground sausage, peppers and mozzarella. This was really delicious because the mix of the sweetness and the spiciness was perfect. Since everything in this restaurant is fresh, the pizza crust also tasted really light.

My dad’s friend ordered the Baby Beet salad, which had greens, goat cheese and tossed with red wine vinaigrette. This was also great because the goat cheese and the vinaigrette did not overpower the whole taste of the salad. This was also a great complement to the pizza.

I also ordered the Valrhona Chocolate Souffle cake, which was served with orange sauce and vanilla gelatine. It was sooooo nice!

So if you are looking for a nice lunch place in New York and happen to be in midtown East of Manhattan, you should definitely try out Fred’s! I believe it is in the 5th floor of Barneys on 60th street. Yaay!
